Description
A plant with a tight head of flowers that can range in colour from dark green to a purplish green. With thick, fleshy green stalks can look like a small tree.
Selection, Storage & Handling
Select fresh, bright-green heads and look for compact clusters of tightly closed flowerets. Stalks and stem leaves should be tender yet firm. Avoid any with yellowing flowerets and thick, woody stems. Keep dry. Store us in a vented plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Nutritional Values
An excellent source of vitamins A and C. A very good source of folacin and vitamin E, and a useful source of riboflavin.
